About the Practice

Practice Philosophy

We know that reaching out for help is hard and our goal is make it easier for you by taking a thoughtful approach to treatment. We focus on integrating the best evidence-based research, clinical experience, and your value system which contributes to a satisfying, successful, treatment experience.

Ms. Myers founded a private practice in 2020 to provide a more personal and integrative approach to mental health treatment for the Herkimer community.  She strives to remove as many barriers as possible between her patients and their achievement of mental health.  She recognizes the importance of values, accessibility, communication, and availability in treating her adult and adolescent patients and their families.

The first step is the initial consultation and evaluation, which is an opportunity to gather information about your strengths, difficulties, and factors that might be contributing to your symptoms in order to come up with an accurate diagnosis that will then guide treatment. By determining the correct diagnosis early on, an appropriate treatment plan can be initiated, thereby starting the patient on a road to recovery. We work with you not only to treat illness and crisis situations, but to prevent them before they occur. We empower you with the tools you need to achieve and maintain optimal health.

We address all the unique things that make you you—your mind, body, spirit, and the environment and social context in which you live. We believe that the ideal patient – provider relationship is a partnership, where we work with you together as teammates toward your goals. We know that a relationship based on respect and the recognition of your autonomy, values and needs has the potential to be immensely healing and transformative. We are committed to recognizing your unique experience and circumstances, and to providing care that respects your individuality. The goal of care is for you to achieve optimal health and your highest level of functioning, in all aspects of your life.

Billing and Payment

Ms. Myers carefully limits the size of her practice so clinician’s can emphasize personal attention and quality of care.  As such, the clinician’s only accept limited insurance companies. The private-pay rate for couples, individual, and family therapy will vary depending on your therapist.  Many patients have a health benefits policy that provides mental health coverage, so you may be entitled to insurance reimbursement for any provided professional services.  We highly recommend that you contact your insurance provider before your appointment by calling the customer service number on the back of the card and asking about your mental health benefits. In some cases, paying out-of-pocket or "private pay" may be less expensive than your insurance rates. We accept many forms of payment, including cash, check, and most major credit cards.

Payment is due at the beginning of each appointment.  Alternative payment plans must be discussed with the office administrator prior to a scheduled appointment.  If you have additional questions concerning the financial aspect of your visit our office is available to answer your questions and address any concerns.
